The MZ Magnum is built in Arkansas right alongside Bad Boy's commercial mowers, and it shows in the parts list: a 2-by-2 all-steel rail frame, 3/8-inch steel front forks and a sloped, all-welded steel deck, where Bad Boy says most mowers in this price range get a stamped deck bolted together.
Lift the deck with the pedal on either side and dial in the height, with the blade switch, throttle and key all in the same spot. Steering dampening keeps it from feeling twitchy, and the floorboard flips up when it's time to clean out underneath.
It's 54 inches wide with the chute up, so a standard 5-foot gate is no problem.
